Warda: My Journey from the Horn of Africa to a College Education, Beaver’s Pond Press, 2020
This memoir’s author wanted to do an illustrated cover with art reminiscent of henna tattoos. Concepts explored variations on this, all featuring thick inks dense with patterns and florals. The final design prominently features a single rose (the name “Warda” means “rose.”).
The book’s interior includes thirty spot illustrations, one for each chapter.
